About Timber and Tin
Timber and Tin opened its doors to guests in May 2020 and has quickly become one of the best places to stay in Kanab.
The resort features 7 homes, a swimming pool, hot tub, a historic barn with games and a theater room, an outdoor picnic pavilion, and a fire pit.
The Jackson family built these vacation homes on their family’s historic land.
This corner of Main Street once served as the headquarters for the Jackson Cattle Company in the 1920s.
The original barn still stands and has been restored to serve as the game and entertainment space.
What to expect when staying at Timber and Tin
Each of the homes at Timber and Tin are tastefully decorated with modern decor and all the comforts of home.
The spacious homes have a large living area, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and upgraded bathrooms with soothing rain showerheads.
Attention has been made to every last detail, even down to the coasters made of locally sourced sandstone!
The hosts have put together a very detailed welcome book with guides for local hikes and attractions. They even offer a free concierge service.
We have visited this area many times but found some great recommendations for new spots that we are anxious to check out!
There is so much to love about the homes, but our favorite feature is the rooftop deck. Each home has a rooftop deck outfitted with a hammock, an outdoor seating area, and a fire pit.
It’s that extra something that elevates the feel of the home and truly makes your stay magical!

Our experience staying at Timber + Tin
After our stay at Lake Powell, we headed to Kanab to kick off our Utah summer road trip.
We arrived in the early evening and as soon as we pulled up we knew this place was special.
The boys could hardly contain their excitement as they ran around exploring every nook and cranny, and declared that it was even better than our own house!
It didn’t take them long to discover the little welcome bag of candy, popcorn, and hot chocolate!
After settling in and perusing the welcome book, I found some great dinner recommendations. But the boys decided they didn’t want to leave so we opted for a pizza party on the roof.
We headed to the pool after that, where the kids thought it was cool to take an outdoor shower under a mini water tower.
The water slide kept them entertained and I was content relaxing in the hot tub while watching them play.
After a while, we decided to check out the barn. We were impressed with the wide variety of games.
The oversized Connect Four was a favorite and Ryder was determined to conquer the Perplexus Maze.
We also took the ladder balls out on the lawn for some friendly competition.
They also had props for a cute selfie station, and plenty of board and card games for a fun family game night.
You’ll also find some classic western movies that you can curl up and watch on the projector.
The barn loft is also the perfect spot for younger kids to read books and play with toys.
As the sun began setting, we headed up to the rooftop to roast s’mores over the fire.
I have a feeling that sitting with the boys under the starry sky around the fire will be one of my all-time favorite summer memories.

There was just enough time to slip into the hot tub where we relaxed in the quiet summer air while the water was illuminated with color-changing lights.
We ended the night all cozied up with popcorn, hot chocolate, and a movie.
The next morning we woke up refreshed and ready to explore all that Kanab has to offer!
We truly had such a memorable stay! If you’re looking for the best place to stay in Kanab, I would highly recommend Timber + Tin!
