The Perfect Nashville Girls Weekend Itinerary
Table of Contents
Day 1:
Travel to Nashville
Today is a travel day as you will either be flying into Nashville or driving.
If you are flying, you will want to rent a car for this itinerary. I would recommend using RentCars or Expedia to compare costs between the different rental car companies.
To make your planning easier, I have put together a map of all of the locations of the places listed in this itinerary.
Grab a bite to eat at Hattie B’s
You will most likely be hungry after traveling, so head to Hattie B’s at their Midtown location for a bite to eat.
Order their signature Hot Nashville Chicken Sandwich as well as some sides to share. We loved the fried pickles, crinkle-cut fries, pimento mac & cheese, and potato salad.
Save room for some peach cobbler and banana pudding for dessert!
Check into The Graduate Hotel
The Graduate Hotel is the perfect home base for your Nashville girl’s weekend!
This hotel is a bubblegum pink dream come true, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a real-life Barbie mansion!
You’ll find attention to every detail with chic eclectic decor.
The guest rooms are uniquely designed and exude Southern Charm while giving a nod to Music City’s history.
Poindexter Coffee is located in the lobby where you can grab a quick breakfast or lunch, or relax on the sofa and enjoy your morning kick with girlfriends.
There is also a stylish outdoor patio that has the perfect ambiance for hanging out with girlfriends in the evening.
The Instagrammable rooftop bar is the place to go to relax and soak in the views of Nashville’s skyline.
The Governor’s Pool is also located on the roof of The Graduate, but you must pay to reserve a time slot if you want to swim.
Watch a show at the Grand Ole Opry
After getting settled in, head to the Grand Ole Opry to watch an evening show.
The Grand Ole Opry is such an iconic part of Nashville’s history. It is the longest running radio program in the world and has hosted some of country music’s most legendary artists for nearly a century!
You’ll want to reserve tickets in advance as they often sell out. You can also book a backstage tour to learn more about the fascinating history of the Grand Ole Opry.
Each show features a variety of performers with a live radio commercial break in between the sets.
You may not recognize every name on the show’s lineup, but it is guaranteed to be an entertaining evening filled with unmistakable talent!
You also may luck out and get a headliner act like Carrie Underwood!
After the show, you can grab a bite to eat at the Gaylord Opryland Resort next door before heading back to your hotel for the night.
If you have time: Drive to Franklin
If your flight arrives early in the day, you may want to drive to the charming town of Franklin.
As you drive out of town, the busy city streets will give way to rolling green hills with sprawling estates.
As you walk down the streets of this idyllic historic town, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time.
Many of the historic structures still stand and a lot of the original Victorian buildings have been converted into shops, galleries, and cafes.
If you’re hungry, grab a bite to eat at Puckett’s Grocery & Kitchen. You’ll find Southern favorites, like Southern Fried Chicken and Pimento Cheese Bites. They also serve a killer “Cobbler of the Day”.
Try the Nashville Cheesesteak Sandwich, the BBQ Taco Salad, or the Smoked Baby Back Ribs.
This town also played a central role during the American Civil War, as the 1864 Battle of Franklin was fought here.
If you have time, take a tour of the Carter House, Carnton Plantation, or the Lotz House to learn more about the history.
Day 2:
Brunch at White Limozeen
White Limozeen is located on the top floor of The Graduate Hotel.
This chic restaurant is dripping in pink and is the perfect spot for a girl’s weekend brunch.
We ordered the Avocado Toast on Sourdough with Shoestring Fries, a fresh fruit plate, and Cinnamon Bun Pull Apart Bread with Sea Salt Caramel. Everything was delicious!
Their House Biscuits, Brûléed Red Grapefruit, Sundried Tomato Quiche, and French Toast also looked divine.
Just keep in mind that you will need to make reservations for brunch or any meal at White Limozeen. You do not need reservations for the outdoor bar or patio seating though.
I would recommend making reservations for 10 a.m. right when they open because you’ll have a full day ahead of you!
Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum
Visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame is a must when planning a Nashville girl’s weekend.
The three-story museum is packed with exhibits chronicling the history of country music.
You’ll find displays with memorabilia, outfits, and instruments belonging to iconic country music legends from Elvis to Taylor Swift and hundreds more!
Plan for about an hour or two to visit the museum.
The best place to park is at the nearby Music City Center Parking Garage. It is only $15 for the entire day and is the cheapest parking garage in the city.
You’ll be spending the rest of the day exploring around downtown Nashville, so just plan to leave your car there all day.
Take a tour of RCA Studio B
When booking tickets to the Country Music Hall of Fame, you’ll have the option to add on a tour of the RCA Studio B and I would highly recommend it.
From the museum, you’ll board a shuttle bus that will take you to this historic recording studio located on Music Row.
Studio B is the oldest surviving recording studio in Nashville. It was also Elvis Presley’s favorite recording studio and he recorded over 200 songs here.
You can even see the very piano that Elvis used while recording many of his hits.
You’ll take a guided tour of the studio where you’ll learn some fascinating stories about its history and the numerous artists that recorded here.
Lunch at Assembly Food Hall
Assembly Food Hall is within walking distance of the Country Music Hall of Fame, so head over for a bite to eat after you return from your Studio B tour.
Here, you will find a multi-level modern food court that is home to over 30 restaurants and bars.
Try some wood-fired pizza from Desano’s Pizzeria, a steaming bowl of pho at Hans Banh Mi, juicy smoked brisket at Honeyfire BBQ Co, or a fresh lobster roll from Dock Local.
Be sure to save room for a scoop of ice cream from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. The Bramble Berry Crisp and Butter Cake are our favorite flavors!
After you’re done eating, check out the shops at Assembly Food Hall.
We scored some good finds at Garage Sale Vintage if you like shopping for vintage t-shirts.
Assembly Food Hall also has three performance stages and the largest rooftop gathering spot in Nashville. Check the calendar for upcoming events.
Tour Ryman Auditorium
The Ryman Auditorium is located just across the street from the Assembly Food Hall.
This historic venue was built as a church in 1892, but over the past century has become one of the most iconic music venues in the world.
Some of the biggest names in music have performed here, and not just country music artists. This stage has hosted legends like Johnny Cash, Elvis, Joan Jett, Lizzo, and even Harry Styles.
Reserve tickets to tour this beloved landmark, or check the calendar of events to see if there will be any performances while you are there.
Take photos at Printer’s Alley
After touring Ryman, walk a few blocks over to Printer’s Alley.
Printer’s Alley is a historic district that was the hub of Nashville’s printing industry in the early 1900s.
By the 1940s, this narrow alley was transformed into Nashville’s trendy nightclub district filled with live music and neon lights.
Today, nightclubs still line the alleyway and it boasts a vibrant nightlife.
It’s also one of Nashville’s most Instagrammable spots if you want to take photos on your girl’s trip!
Dinner at The Hampton Social
Speaking of Instagrammable, The Hampton Social is one of the most photogenic restaurants in Nashville, and the food is delicious too!
This restaurant gives off chic coastal vibes and feels like it belongs on the breezy shores of The Hamptons.
The three-story restaurant has themed dining rooms and a rooftop terrace.
The menu features fresh seafood, as well as other dishes like salads and pizza with a modern twist.
For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Quesadilla with goat cheese, arugula, honey, balsamic, and white truffle. We also tried the Spinach Dip with Garlic Parmesan Crumble, and the Avocado Corn Pizza.
We loved the unique flavor combinations and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful.
Go bar hopping on the Honky Tonk Highway
Lower Broadway is known as the Honky Tonk Highway. This stretch of road is lined with honky tonk bars that have live music and people spilling out of the doors.
It is such a fun and vibrant area with a palpable energy in the air.
Spend the evening bouncing between the different honky tonks listening to live music, dancing, and enjoying drinks with your girlfriends.
Some of the most iconic honky tonks include Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Legend’s Corner, and Honky Tonk Central.
Many of the establishments have rooftop bars where you can enjoy watching the sunset over Broadway.
Day 3:
Brunch at Biscuit Love
After a long day (and night!) you’ll want to sleep in a little bit today, but don’t waste the whole day in bed!
Biscuit Love is a Nashville institution and one of the best places to get brunch on a girl’s weekend.
Their menu puts a creative twist on classic Southern dishes that are made fresh from scratch every day.
Be sure to order the “Bonuts” made from deep-fried biscuit dough and topped with lemon mascarpone and blueberry compote.
We also loved the East Nasty buttermilk biscuit and fried chicken sandwich.
Another favorite is The Lily which is made with French toast-style biscuits baked in a custard.
And if you would like more food recommendations, see our guide 8 of The Best Places To Eat in Nashville.
Afternoon shopping & lunch
It’s not a Nashville girl’s weekend without a little shopping!
Biscuit Love has several locations, but I would recommend going to the one in The Gulch so that you can do some shopping afterward.
The Gulch is an upscale neighborhood with trendy boutiques and popular stores like Lululemon and Urban Outfitters.
Be sure to snag a picture at the famous WhatLiftsYou Wings mural while you’re there.
12 South Neighborhood is also a great place to go shopping.
Here you will find Reese Witherspoon’s store, Draper James, as well as favorites like Madewell and Marine Layer. And White’s Mercantile is the place to go for cute souvenirs and unique gifts.
Be sure to stop by Five Daughter’s Bakery to try one of their signature 100-layer donuts.
If you’re hungry for lunch, Edley’s BBQ is also located in the 12 South Neighborhood and serves mouthwatering smoked BBQ.
If you like thrifting, Charlotte Avenue is known for having the best thrift stores in Nashville.
The area is a little rundown, but if you like a good treasure hunt then you might want to check out Cool Stuff Weird Things, Unique Thrift Store, This-n-That Thrift, and Southern Thrift Store.
L&L Market is located near Charlotte Avenue. Here, you will find an old industrial building that has been converted into shops and a food hall.
Check out the boutique shops then stop at Gracie’s Milkshake Bar for an over-the-top gourmet milkshake.
Culture & Co is also a cool spot where you can build your own charcuterie board with ingredients passing by on a conveyor belt.
If you don’t feel like shopping, The Graduate Hotel offers complimentary bikes that you can ride to Centennial Park to have a picnic and see a replica of the Greece Parthenon that was built in 1897.
Tour Belle Meade Historic Site
Escape the crowds and drive about 15 minutes to the countryside where you can tour the Belle Meade Historic Site.
This Greek Revival Style home was built in the 1850s for the Harding family, one of the wealthiest landowners in the area.
Their immense success came from breeding award-winning thoroughbred racehorses.
Over the years, Belle Meade produced 11 Kentucky Derby Triple Crown Winners. In 1886, the world-famous Iroquois came to Belle Meade and he became known as the leading sire in the US.
On the guided tour, you’ll learn about how the family went from having more money than they knew what to do with, to losing it all a few generations later.
You’ll also learn about the dark history and heartbreaking stories of the enslaved people who lived here.
The tour is well done and I would highly recommend visiting while on your Nashville girl’s weekend. Tours run every 30-45 minutes with the last tour at 4 pm.
Dinner and a show at The Bluebird Cafe
A show at The Bluebird Cafe is one of the most coveted tickets in town!
This small venue is where Taylor Swift was first discovered when she was just 14 years old.
Other stars who first got their start here include the likes of Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Keith Urban, and Lady Antebellum.
The intimate venue only seats 90 people and the tickets go fast.
See The Blue Bird Cafe website for ticket reservation information and be sure to set your alarm for when they are released.
Food is available for purchase during the show. The menu includes pizza, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers.
It’s the perfect way to end a girl’s weekend in Nashville!
