Raclette from Kappacasein Dairy
We have tried raclette in Switzerland and at the Christmas market in Bryant Park in New York City, but the raclette from Kappacasein Dairy at Borough Market is hands down the best weโve ever had!
Their raw milk cheese is made fresh, and it is unbelievably rich and creamy. For the raclette, the top layer of a wheel of cheese is melted, then scraped over baby new potatoes and seasoned perfectly.
It’s served with a side of cornichons (pickles) and pickled onions. I could eat this every meal and never get tired of it!
Kappacasein Dairy is also famous for its Toasties. These melty, gooey cheese sandwiches are made with a blend of fresh cheeses and toasted to perfection between two slices of tangy sourdough bread.
Insider tip: They bag up the ends of their sourdough loaves and offer them for free, so grab a bag to take with you!
Crรจme Brรปlรฉe Donuts from Bread Ahead Bakery
Bread Ahead Bakery started as a small stall right here in Borough Market and has since expanded to multiple locations across London, and even internationally.
Theyโre known for their legendary Crรจme Brรปlรฉe donuts, which are torched with a heat coil right before your eyes. Each donut is perfectly fluffy, filled with homemade custard, and finished with a crackly caramelized top.
The donuts are made fresh daily with a rotation of popular and seasonal flavors. We tried a variety of flavors, and each one was divine!
Bread Ahead Bakery is one of the most popular stalls in Borough Market, so expect to find a line, but it moves quickly and is well worth the wait.
They also sell incredible artisan bread and are known for their sourdough bread, so grab a loaf to-go!
For a fun and delicious experience, you can also sign up for one of their baking workshops, where you can learn how to make their signature donuts and breads.
“The Best One” Sandwich from The Black Pig
This might just be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten! And this is coming from someone who doesn’t really love meat, so that’s saying a lot!
Let’s break down the construction of this amazing sandwich. First, it starts with toasted ciabatta bread made fresh daily from Bread Ahead Bakery right here at Borough Market.
The bread is piled high with slow-roasted pork and topped with a fennel & apple slaw. Then itโs drizzled with honey truffle mayo and salsa verde for a burst of flavor.
To finish it off, the sandwich is sliced in half and covered with a mountain of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. It has the perfect balance of heat, crunch, sweetness, and savory richness.
Across from the stall, youโll find wooden bleachers where you can sit, enjoy your sandwich, and people-watch.
Apple Cinnamon Crumble from Humble Crumble
I had heard that Humble Crumble was good, but I didn’t realize it was THAT good! Their apple cinnamon crumble was one of my favorite things I ate during our trip to London. It totally hit the spot on a chilly fall day!
They offer different flavors and combinations so you can build your own crumble, but the apple cinnamon is my favorite.
The crumble starts with tender apples simmered in a rich cinnamon sauce, topped with a buttery shortbread streusel, and drenched in a warm vanilla custard sauce. It melts in your mouth and is absolutely heavenly!
Each crumble is made to order using high-quality ingredients prepared daily on-site, and you can taste the difference in every bite.
Chocolate Strawberries from Turnips
The chocolate strawberries from Turnips are one of the most viral foods at Borough Market, and for good reason! I saw countless social media posts raving about them, so I couldn’t wait to try them for myself.
They serve freshly picked, perfectly ripe strawberries swimming in melted velvety Belgian chocolate. It is essentially strawberries and chocolate fondue in a cup. Simple, elegant, and completely irresistible.
This stall was the last stop on our Borough Market food crawl, and we were completely stuffed by the time we got there.
We decided to come back the next day so that we could fully enjoy this sweet treat, but they were all sold out. The following day was a Monday when the market is closed, and we flew home the next morning, so we were out of luck!
My advice to you is, if you see them available, then grab one because they do sell out!
Final Thoughts

These were our top five favorites, but there are countless other incredible foods to try.
